After careful consideration, the Huntsville Festival of the Arts and Edge of the Woods Theatre have decided to put the Nuit Blanche North event on hold for a year to prepare for a bigger and better version in 2017. This period will help strengthen the event by giving us more time in advance to plan programming, and to seek funding and support. We recognize that Nuit Blanche North is an important event for many in the community, as it is for us and that’s why it’s so important that we take the time now to build the event so that it can grow and flourish in the future.
In the meantime, we will be actively planning and fundraising for our 2017 edition. We are also planning a smaller day time event in July that will feature buskers, street artists, performers and music, and will share plans for the future. Since 2011, the annual event has welcomed over 20,000 visitors to the area, presenting the work of over 500 local and invited artists and engaging thousands of community members in hands on art making activities. The spin off economic impact on local accommodation providers, restaurants and area merchants has been estimated in hundreds of thousands of dollars since inception.
We want to thank everyone who makes this event possible including our funders, sponsors, donors, partners and volunteers, as well as the thousands of visitors each year. We encourage anyone in the community, that has any questions or would like to learn more or find out how they can get involved, to contact us at email@example.com or 705-571-4334.
