A celebration in honour of the 100th Anniversary of Tom Thomson’s first trip to Huntsville. Theatre artists Leah Houston and Dan Watson created a whimsical welcome for the arrival by boat of the 25ft statue of Tom created by artist Marc Walter. Live music by the Sunparlour Players, Text from Margaret Atwood’s Wilderness Tips, beautiful dresses and hundreds of sparklers accompanied a procession of canoes from Algonquin Outfitters as they made their way to the Town Docks for the kick off the evening’s activities.
For one hour the riverfront is lit up with fire! Using juggling, poi, quarter staff and hoops, fire artists light up both the land and the water. Featured performers include Brant “The Fire Guy”, El Jaguar Street Fiesta and Kobbler Jay.
